The descriptive answer is that it takes the place of my usual 'Favorites' or 'Bookmarks' when I'm on the road, so to speak. I don't always get to access the internet from my usual computer, for various reasons (in a computer lab, using a friend's computer, computer broken...whatever). The thing is, there are a variety of websites that I frequent, but that I don't necessarily always remember the full URL (http:// web address) for. When I need a site, I don't want to: 1) look it up in a search engine; or 2) navigate through a series of links to get to the page I need, starting from the top (home) page. This page, with an easy to remember URL, is my solution to that (my original problem, a terrible memory). The scary part is that this started out as a hand-coded NotePad file of 498 bytes; it has since grown to 37KB (at last count), still coded on NotePad.
